There are more than 875 million firearms in the world, 75 per cent of them in the hands of civilians

“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.“..U.S. Constitution, the Second Amendment, ratified in 1791 which allows US citizens to carry firearms as a right.

“Gun violence has killed 428 times more Americans over the past decade than terrorism”

What militia are we talking about? WHAT IS THE PREMISE OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT???

“Guns outnumber passenger vehicles by 253 million or 29 per cent”

Mr. Narendra Modi-The New Dude in Town

asana2This article will not look at the economic performance of Mr. Modi in detail since there are too many reports online but take a qualitative assessment of our Prime Minister.

To begin with Mr. Modi has done a lot in his brief tenure as Prime Minister of India including attracting capital globally, invigorating equity markets, reducing inflation by stabilising food subsidies & deregulating diesel subsidies, opening up many critical sector to foreign participation esp. railways and consolidating several government services under e-business portal to smoothen the process of investment and make it more pro business friendly. It’s sad that some other reforms like GST and land reforms have not materialised due to majority of the opposition in the upper house, but surely it will work out going forward.

The best part of Mr. Modi is the image which is has projected to the world. He has come out riding like a cowboy on a stallion like there is no tomorrow while connecting with our roots likes meditation and yoga which define the very essence of India. He has reinvent India when he implemented World Yoga Day and popularised yoga which was invented by Yogi Patanjali about 2500 years ago. Today one in six people in US does yoga as a mode of fitness or spiritual wellbeing and due to Mr. Modi’s initiative and emphasis, yoga is slowly regaining its popularity in India. (India already has many great schools of yoga inc. world famous Sivananda ashram, Bihar School of Yoga and Iyengar to name a few)

He has been ahead of the curve in embracing technology in a very effective way despite his humble beginnings. He has more Twitter or Facebook followers than any leader in Asia and has understood the importance of PR as an effective mode of communication with the educated class in India and abroad.  He has outdone any of high predecessors in India in reaching out and connecting with the masses in India.

His recent visit to US was so much published and highlighted in media goes to show the respect and admiration people have for him in the western world. The best part of his visit is the personal touch shown by Mark Zuckerberg when Mark highlighted the importance his family played in Mark’s success in order to connect with Mr Modi.  This is unprecedented in Indian history where a global entrepreneur has embraced a world leader on a personal level in public. (Mark has a personal affinity towards Asians culture since he is married to Priscilla Chan, who is of Chinese-Vietnamese origin). On a personal note, I remember once reading that the best decision in life a man would take in his late 20’s or early 30’s is marriage since that’s going to define life going forward. Maybe it doesn’t told true in certain parts of the world with rising divorce rates but its Alright…Alright…we all make mistakes. Looking back no wonder I ever got married since I was not so wise or I am destined for much greater things. Also a few bachelors can surely help a country with a population of more than a billion and in this regard my profile matches with Mr. Modi.

Mr. Modi’s meeting with Mark highlights the potential India has for Facebook as platform for social media since in the end economics drives harmony. Modi’s visit in Silicon Valley was decisive since he connected with everyone on his digital India mandate and attracting investments from Google apart from others.  Mr. Modi not only carried himself with aplomb and but also mesmerised everyone with his wit and creativity. Born and primarily educated in India, my mother always emphasised the importance of English as a language by making sure that all my primary education was from best schools in India. No wonder my mother was a visionary as English is the international mode of communication and enhances your personality but Mr Modi has shown that lack of good English communication skill sets is hardly an impediment for effective communication at very high level. It is heartening to hear our Prime Minister speak Hindi when the whole world was glued to his telecast and clapping at his wit remarks is a statement in itself of the transformation of image India globally.

Mr. Modi has done what many Indian leaders could not do before. He has displayed panache, decisiveness and confidence befitting a leader from one of the oldest civilizations in the world. He has effectively shown that not only Indians but Asians are no less than anyone. People can only ride you if only you bend and to accept a condescending attitude from anyone pertaining to racial bias is a mistake to begin with anyways.

Mr Modi not only has changed the image of India but Asians in general. He has transformed India’s foreign policy by fermenting good relations with US, Europe, China, Japan and South Korea. He has shown that ultimately respect and admiration is not based on your appearance, country or education but on your action, deeds, tenacity and confidence. Mr. Modi is destined to be Prime Minister of India for a long time is not only going to be a great leader but also a great humanitarian. He will in the end not only bring economic growth but both equality among sexes and harmony. The upcoming Angela Markel’s visit should be very important since in Angela we have a great humanitarian and world leader par excellence. Great time for Indian to cement its relations with one of the greatest nations the world has ever see, Germany.

Considering that many of Mr. Modi followers are from around the world with followers from different countries and race, Mr Modi you are the new dude in town.

Keep going the whole world is with you.

The coming two months we will focus a lot on Fitness & Wellbeing which would include gymming, cardio, cross training and yoga as well as travel.

Had a bit rundown in gym. Very average session today. Need to buckle up and train much harder. Gained some weight including muscle weight but i got to be careful about my diet.

Keep tuned up……………

Let’s start our fitness article today with a look at major functional muscles.

Many people think that biceps define your strength or how ripped you are are.Well you are absolutely wrong because biceps are the weak muscles in the body. As a matter of matter triceps when defined will make your arms looks much bigger as compared to biceps. The biggest muscles in the body are are Chest, Back and Legs with Legs the biggest of them all. Well defined legs are hallmark not only of strength but also of aesthetics of  a well defined and toned body. These are also core functional muscles which defines your strength and power. The best exercises to gain strength are benchpress, deadlifts and of course squats.

images (1)Among these exercises, Squats is the best for gaining power since it involves the whole body workout. Squats is for legs and is one of the most used exercise by boxers to add strength along with leg press.

Bench Press is all time favourite but you have to be very careful when you do deadlight. Deadlight is a major exercise for back and it is advisable to be very careful with your form and prudent to wear a belt while executing this exercise since this exercise usually causes most injuries. Also it is good to mix a few other exercises like shoulder or arnold press and shoulder fylies along with the above routine.

Power Workout.. This is for advance gymmers

  • Bench Press 3-4 sets (8-12 reps)images
  • Deadlifts  3-4 sets (8-12 reps)
  • Shrugs 2 sets (8-12 reps)
  • Shoulder Press 3 sets (8-12 reps)
  • Biceps Bar curl 3 sets and Triceps preferable close grip 3 sets
  • Squats 4-5 sets (8-12 reps)
  • Leg Press 3-4 sets (8-12 reps)
  • Calves 2 sets

This will  be a very intense work out and is for people who have already started working out with individual body parts. Since legs are very EXHAUSTING  for some people but its better to follow this routine although you can also start with legs. Before starting the routine 10 min of moderate treadmill running with a few stretches and at least 30 push ups. You could divide the push ups in three sets. Post the routine do atleast 10 mins or more of cardio with a bit of stretches including back extension.  It’s needless to say that you have to follow a very high protein diet full of fibre and good carbohydrates. Please watch this video for deadlifts.

One for Underprivileged Children..

Wanted to share my experience with partially blind and underprivileged children near my school. I have been visiting this school occasionally since 2013 and have been very regular for the past few months.

11899999_638033159673096_4210720932703029498_nI go there regularly to teach English and History about two to three times per week. Well to begin with its not easy since i do not speak fluently the regional language marathi and becomes a bit difficult to connect sometimes with a few of the students. I have to be creative since i cannot use the blackboard. I started by explaining past, present and future tense and how to converse in day to day english. Some of my students have picked up while some of them have been struggling. I am thinking how to be more creative. Will it help to use audio11988710_645447362265009_7858528189713918346_n  tapes? But then i will need Hindi tapes explaining words in English.

All the children are from underprivileged background and the school is works on charity. The food is very decent and is served at 6.10pm sharp.  The food is usually vegetarian and nutritious. The school has a playground in the back of the school which includes toys for children to play with. The children travel outside the 11954609_644229682386777_7035041835539559378_nschool premises on11954573_644229762386769_267944378489284320_nce very week while go to regularly for swimming on Sunday for swimming in a pool nearby. (Had gone with them long time back).

This is a very good experience since it is very different from teaching in business schools. I need to reinvent myself and try to find  a way to find a more effective way to reach out to a few of them.

I try to motivate them by discussing stories of great Indian spiritual leaders & statesmen. In my last week i had discussed Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Shivaji and Guru Gobind Singh.  Time for the dude to sleep soon..

The Quintessential Dude

Founder of The Khalsa: Guru Gobind Singh, Nanded & Essence of a Sardar

Guru Gobind SinghjiThe Guru was formidable in appearance with breathtakingly handsome face, charming personality backed by supreme intelligence and strength. The Guru was legendary in martial arts, connoisseur of fine arts and literature, a poet par excellence, multilingual and spoke many languages including Urdu & Persian.

He had defended himself against all the enemies CHIEFLY the Mughals. The Guru was divinely spiritual and always used diplomacy and brotherhood for peace. However he was forced to take up arms to not only defend himself and his family but the whole mankind to uphold justice, and the universal right to chose a spiritual path. Dude was correct: Analysis of Chinese Equity Markets & FED rates..Read Read

In my report Curious Case of Chinese Equity Markets dated 11 August published on Linkedin i had mentioned the risk of leverage in trades done by retail clients in China. I had argued that the equity downturn was short lived and that the government was justified in intervening in the market. I had sent my report to leading magazines put never got any revert. In the end i have been proved correct while some of the best economists were wrong. I want to highlight my report and would request if anyone can help me on this. I proved to be visionary and very correct in my analysis since Chinese markets more or less have not gone down much while there is not much panic in China or elsewhere.

Also i had predicted that FED will not increase the rates in September (which in the end was really sad) and wrote a report on US Deficit. Access here.

I was right because the downturn in Chinese Equity markets was hyped by media i guess in order to make a case for not increasing FED rates.  If you think and read a bit, it goes a long way. This just shows how important knowledge is in the ned….Ignorance is not bliss…it amplifies risk..and creates bubbles..

Let me know if anyone can help me in publishing this report in a magazine or any prestigious blog..

The Dude Rests His Case..Feeling good and a bit sad..Need credit for this one..Have done a lot of charity..

Too much of anything is not good..even goodness..
