Sadhu T. L. Vaswani ” Every patient is a picture of GOD,to serve him is to worship GOD”
I recently visited Inlaks Budhrani hospital which is near my house in Koregaon Park, Pune, India. The doctor had prescribed me some tests and I had gone to pay the bill at the reception when I was presently surprised by her answer.
The Dude: How much for these tests?
Receptionist: No charge
The Dude: Are you sure? No body charged me anything for OPD also.
Receptionist: Yes we are giving free OPD all day and no charge for any in-house pathological test
The Dude: Wow is it only this week or month, usually OPD is free only for sometime
Receptionist: Every November we carry out these free charitable
The Dude: Is medication also free?
Reception: She smiled. Everything is not a free lunch.
The Dude: Smiled. Sure Will go and buy.
I think I got a bit more enthusiastic hearing all the freebies ( a bit of improvised conversation as usual). I came to know that every November, the hospital gives free medical care which includes free OPD all the day and free in-house pathological tests. The prices of these tests could range between Rs 100 to Rs 7000 depending on the number of tests prescribed by the doctor. The hospital is located in Koregaon Park, Pune near by house which is supposedly the most expensive and vibrant part of Pune.
Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital is run by Sadhu Vaswani Mission a charitable trust founded on the teaching of Sadhu T. L. Vaswani. Sadhu Vaswani was a spiritualist and socio-reformer who was born in Hyderabad in 1879. Sadhu T Vaswani had a deep spiritual inclination since his younger days and dedicated his life to charitable and social causes. He was considered an expert in Upanishads and preached harmony and peace among all. In 1933, Sadhu Vaswani founded “Mira Movement In Education” which is holistic movement in providing complete education to young people. Many schools and colleges were opened all over India under this initiative including the Mira College for Girls. The college was rated among the top five in Pune which has about 500 colleges and this is truly commendable.
More can be read about the college here http://www.sadhuvaswani.org/svm/svmact.html

The hospital has a good specialized centers for Cancer, Heart and Eye while a multi-faceted general hospital.
Sadhu Vaswani Mission’s Medical Complex comprises of
Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital
Morbai Naraindas Budhrani Cancer Institute
Kirpalani Kundnani Eye Institute
Fabiani & Budhrani Heart Institute
The hospital has a very big alternative medical section including Ayurveda section which includes in-house spa massage, acupuncture and other facilities at very reasonable costs. This is a very good feature of the hospital compared to other hospital since it encourages a science from ancient India whose fingerprints can be seen in ancient history of India. The great part of Inlaks is that it is a very clean upmarket hospital which provides medical services at affordable prices. It generally has a free OPD between 3 pm to 5 pm ( sometime still 7 pm) and a free ambulance service in Pune city. Furthermore the hospital is giving a 50% discount on medical care in general ward and free angioplasty to patients from around India who come to the hospital.
This is fantastic especially for a country like India where medical care is a luxury or the quality standards in free medical care are dismissal. Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital is a free breath of air especially for India which has one of the most cynical & corrupt medical system. The hospital is very clean, staff reasonably friendly and prices very affordable compared to its peers. I remember when my mother had got operated for a minor surgery, the hospital rates were the cheapest for similar surgery across different hospitals while quality was at par.
If you consider peer hospitals you understand how some of them are minting money, a barbaric crime. I do agree that doctors will go where they maximize their earnings and talents, but one could give about 2 to 3 hours of time in hospitals like Inlaks. Medical care is just a holistic career but sadly around the world especially in India it has become a money making profession. The great part of Cuba and some European countries is that they provide the best quality of medical services absolutely free...World class medical care free. Is it not what all the great humanitarians wanted? If Jesus came back on Earth, this is what he will want..am I correct here? India is still working because it some spiritualists and humanitarians like Sadhu T. L. Vaswani who come and bring about a change in a very corrupt society which has forgotten everything about its ancient civilization including its roots.
Sadhu T. L. Vaswani did take some inspiration from Jesus which served as a catalyst for his philanthropic work. Sadly when one gets affected by viral fever, the virus doesn’t distinguish between a Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Jew, Sikh, Agnostic or a Spiritualist like myself. It just affects you and then you run to a doctor.
Inlaks hospital is an eye opener for everyone and I seriously recommend people around the world to keep the initiative going forward through charity, volunteering etc. The hospital is funded by the charitable trust and the blessings of all devas is that donations will keep coming for the great work which the hospital, doctors and staff are presently involved in carrying on.
MUCH APPRECIATED, DEEPLY OBLIGED AND ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.
India and Nishworld salutes and bows down in respect to Sadhu T. L. Vaswani, the charitable mission and everyone in hospital. The Dude to do 1000 push ups in multiple sets as a mark of honor and respect.
I quote a very important quote by a not so great man” Ask not what the country can do, ask what you can do for your country”. Inlaks and Budhrani Hospital serves as a good example for everyone to focus at issue at hand. Instead of misleading public on issues which are irrelevant, its time for people to see if they can do something for their country. Mr. Modi has done a wonderful job in not only attracting foreign capital to India but also in changing the face of India globally. Its time we all do our part…
First keep India clean and second at-least give one day every month to charitable causes. If the above doesn’t inspire anyone of you then see the pic on the side. Come on get up and start doing something constructive like hugging underprivileged children, teach blind students, write something creative, go for a charity run…Just do something…Donate your organs after death for a holy cause, read something about your history…get inspired and inspire others…Thats The Middle Path…
I am not going to here always to handhold you… India is not incredible..You make it incredible
Is the work for The Dude got over by just writing this article. The Dude smiles…It has just stated…The Epic journey HAS just begun…
