Special thanks to the EU Taxonomy and the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance for their work supporting this landmark initiative. 🌍 The Green Deal is one of the pivotal game-changing events within sustainable development. I share my deep congratulations with the EU and all the actors involved in this pioneering regulation. The European Commission wins the inaugural award for Actor of the Year within sustainable development for its leadership in developing and implementing the Green Deal, as well as establishing the EU Taxonomy and the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance.
The EU has been a global leader in driving climate action, being the first region to implement a large-scale carbon market. Its innovative EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) mechanism is a model for achieving carbon pricing through the cap-and-trade model.
